Southcombe is a fifth-generation family-owned and managed glove manufacturer and supplier.
Established in 1847, the company continues to operate from its original site in Stoke-sub-Hamdon, Somerset, UK where it employs skilled staff in the production and supply of gloves for a variety of markets, including fire and rescue services, police and military services worldwide.
Specialising in high-end cut and sew glove designs, Southcombe strives to provide clients with first-class products and services. Most styles produced under the Company’s Firemaster brand are certified to UKCA, CE and NFPA standards and all production is carefully controlled under the company’s ISO 9001 status.
Unique amongst protective glove manufacturers worldwide, Southcombe own and operate their own tannery from where they produce most of the leather that is used in their glove production. Manufactured via a proprietary formulation, PYROHIDE cowhide leather is a first-grade grain leather that is machine washable and can provide end-users with exceptional levels of water resistance protection as well as chemical and fire protection, it remains one of the key components in Southcombe’s protective glove range.
