Reach and Rescue develop innovative, long-reach, telescopic water rescue poles and water rescue equipment that is saving lives in 50+ countries worldwide. Their products enable emergency services, search and rescue teams and the public to conduct swift, directionally accurate rescues by retrieving casualties from safe distances – minimising the danger posed to themselves whilst also boosting casualty survival chances. To date, their rescue poles and public-access water rescue systems have prevented the deaths of more than 50 people from potentially life-threatening situations.
Reach and Rescue’s continuous strive for innovation led to the development of their industry-leading public-access water rescue system – the Portsafe. Designed in response to repeated reports of vandalism with existing water rescue systems, Portsafe securely houses a long-reach telescopic rescue pole and an emergency throwline inside lockable boxes that are accessible via a passcode granted by 999 control. The system is proven to save lives; most recently, a Portsafe was used to rescue a member of the public from drowning in Bedford, one of numerous Portsafes stationed alongside high-risk public waterways throughout the UK.
Reach and Rescue is built on innovation. Their long-reach telescopic rescue pole was awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Innovation in 2021
